"A picture tells a thousand words", "Every picture tells a story..."
It sounds cliché, to be sure, but there's truth to these statements.
No matter what the occasion or purpose may be, may it be for a graduation, a portrait of a loved one to hang on a wall or a simple passport photograph, I believe ALL photographs do tell a stories. My approach to portraiture is by creating a narrative with the subject, in context to their current surroundings and their back-story.

Love is AWESOME!
From start to finish and every last detail, a wedding day has got to be one of the most exhilarating, emotional and memorable events there are. To see a couple make their vows is such a sacred and wonderful moment- preserving it in a photograph is even better.
It's a unique privilege and honour in being responsible to capture and record such a special occasion as this. I guess that is why I love photographing weddings!
To the happy and beautiful couples, thank you for letting me be a part of your day.

Whether it is a public or social event, I really enjoy being a part in documenting and recording the special and candid moments. By and large, all events have a Start and a Finish. Like a wedding! And so, I tend to not just photograph the main/important shots, but also the many little details that you may or may not remember. Ultimately creating a story with images without needing to articulate into words- I let the photographs speak for themselves.

From time to time, I get to venture out into the wider world of photography...It helps me to move forward, gives great inspiration, and keeps me on my toes!
I love the way the world looks through a viewfinder and it’s incredibly exciting to partner with others in creating images that will be used for really cool purposes. I enjoy collaborating with others during projects as not only do I learn new processes and techniques, but I can take home some creative ideas for personal projects.
The way I see things is that I can’t put photography in a box on its own...teaming up with others keeps me on my game and I just love sharing innovative ideas that really inspire me to CREATE.

From time to time, I enjoy the company of artists, other photographers... creative people! I love chatting over coffee, sharing different ideas, techniques and taking those ideas and incorporating them into my photography. Being creative can at times be a challenge but also a liberating thing and I find meeting others in their creative walk not only inspires me, but makes me a better photographer. I have met many creative people so far in my journey as a photographer, however, there's 1 person who inspires me greatly. My son, Ethan.
Not only do I have the joys of seeing Ethan grow up physically, but I also am excited to see his love for being creative. Ethan LOVES to draw. Nearly every morning, before he even has his breakfast, he's at the dining table with his pencils & textas, drawing. After school, he comes home and he's back at the same dining table, drawing. His imagination is amazing and I love that about him.
I'm inspired to think like my son when it comes to personal, creative work. Not in a childish way, but in a child-like way. Being able to set aside the busyness and the noise of the day and create- "Getting in the zone" and most importantly, having fun!
At times I find myself over-thinking processes and techniques and not actually enjoying the moment. Seeing Ethan drawing is my reminder to step back from it all once in a while, take the camera out and enjoy creating.
